Fabian Gmeiner (born January 27, 1997 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Gmeiner began his career in his hometown at Dornbirner SV . In 2010 he came to AKA Vorarlberg . In January 2011 he moved to Germany to join the youth team at VfB Stuttgart . With the Stuttgart team he played up to the A-Juniors.

In the summer of 2016, Gmeiner moved to NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands , where he received a two-year contract. He made his debut in the Eredivisie in September 2016 when he came on as a substitute for André Fomitschow in the 88th minute against PSV Eindhoven on matchday five of the 2016/17 season . Otherwise he came to ten missions in the second team.

For the 2017/18 season , Gmeiner moved to Germany for Hamburger SV . There he was part of the squad of the second team that played in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord . In his first season he played 24 times in the Regionalliga Nord and scored 3 goals. In the 2018/19 season , 24 regional league appearances followed without a goal of their own. Then Gmeiner left the club when his contract ended.

For the 2019/20 season, Gmeiner moved to the Regionalliga West to Sportfreunde Lotte . He signed a contract with the relegated team that ran until June 30, 2020. After his contract in Lotte, he left the regional league after 23 appearances in the fourth division after the 2019/20 season.

He then returned to Austria for the 2020/21 season and moved to the second division club SC Austria Lustenau , where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.
