Christoph Körner (born July 9, 1997 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German ice hockey player . He has been under contract with the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 since September 2019 , after having been a promotional license player for the Eispiraten from 2018.

career

As a youth, Körner moved from his hometown club SC Riessersee to EC Bad Tölz and made his league debut in the men's team of the Tölzer Löwen during the 2013/14 season. He then moved to the EC Red Bull Salzburg youth academy .

In April 2016 he was signed by the Hamburg Freezers , but should never be used for the Hanseatic League because the Freezers withdrew from the German Ice Hockey League before the start of the 2016/17 season. Instead, Körner stayed with the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven , where he should have been given time in the DEL2 as a promotional player within the Hamburg-Bremerhaven cooperation . The Bremerhaven-based company received the DEL license that was released after the Freezers-Aus and equipped Körner with a support license for the second division Heilbronner Falken in January 2017 .

In January 2018, grains were loaned from Bremerhaven to the Dresdner Eislöwen (DEL2). In the 2018/19 season, Körner was given a mining license and was regularly on the ice with the Crimmitschau ice pirates . For the 2019/20 season, Körner moved to Düsseldorfer EG , but was unable to assert himself there and left DEG after only one DEL assignment in the direction of Crimmitschau.

International

Körner played for the German youth for the first time at the World U17 Hockey Challenge in January 2014 . The following year he took part in the U18 World Cup in the top division. With the German U20 team , he played in Division I in 2016 and 2017 .
