During the 2008/09 season , Pohl was called up for the first time in the professional team by the coaching staff of the Eisbären Berlin. In the 2009/10 season he also played with a license to support the Dresdner Eislöwen in the 2nd Bundesliga . During the current season, the striker was loaned to Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg until the end of the season, and for the 2012/13 season the DEL club announced the firm commitment of Pohl under a two-year contract. After his contract expired, the attacker switched to the Hamburg Freezers and signed a contract there until 2015.

He started the 2015/16 season with the Schwenninger Wild Wings , before returning to the Ice Pirates from Crimmitschau in January 2016.
