Christoph Wilhelm von Nimschewski

Christoph Wilhelm Friedrich von Nimschewski , also Nimschewsky , (born June 16, 1718 in East Prussia , † October 10, 1764 in Glatz ) was a Prussian colonel .

Life

Nimschewski began his career as a personal page with Friedrich II. Convinced of his abilities and talents, the king transferred him to the 33rd Infantry Regiment in 1746 as a lieutenant . In the same year he was promoted to staff captain and in November 1748 to real captain . In June 1756 Nimschewski received a Grenadier battalion that of grenadier companies of the regiments Nos. 33 and no. 42 was composed. At the same time he was promoted to major . On June 26, 1758, Nimschewski received the order Pour le Mérite after he had distinguished himself during an attack by the Austrians on the Prussian camp in Wusterwitz, not far from Olomouc . In February 1760 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1762 finally to brigade colonel . He was in command of the 33rd Infantry Regiment and ultimately in command of Glatz Fortress .

In the Seven Years' War he was wounded near Kolin and also fought near Liegnitz . Before Olomouc the "Bayreuth" dragoon regiment was supported by its battalion.

Nimschewski married Henriette Auguste Wilhelmine de la Motte Fouqué (1729–1790), daughter of General Heinrich August de la Motte Fouqué, in Glatz in 1753 . From this marriage there was at least one daughter:

  • Dorothea Wilhelmine (1757–1808), ⚭ 1775 Christoph Wilhelm Kaspar Friedrich von Klitzing (1754–1811), heir to Dermerthin , knighthood director
