Chylice (German Chilitz ) is a district of the municipality Ostrožská Nová Ves in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of Uherský Ostroh and belongs to the Okres Uherské Hradiště .

Chylice is located at the western foot of the White Carpathians in the Dolnomoravský úval ( southern March basin ). The village is located on the left side of the Marchauen on the left bank of the creek Petříkovec and its tributary Chylický Potok. The March flows two kilometers to the west. The Brno – Vlárský průsmyk railway line runs past the western edge of the town , the nearest railway station is Ostrožská Nová Ves . The Ostrožská jezera quarry pond area extends to the northwest . The Koruny (274 m) and the Oborský Kopec (240 m) rise in the southeast.

Neighboring towns are Kostelany nad Moravou in the north, Ostrožská Nová Ves in the northeast, Hluk in the east, Ostrožská Lhota and Dvůr Obora in the southeast, Ostrožské Předměstí and Kvačice in the southwest, Moravský Písek in the west and Polešovice and Nedakonice in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village Chylice, located on an old trade route from Moravia to Hungary, was made in 1192. Between 1343 and 1348, Sezima and Mrakeš de Chylecz are documented as owners. In 1359 the village was referred to as Chilecz and in 1372 as Gehilecz . At that time the village was divided in half. Všebor von Rajec sold his share to Frank von Kunowitz before 1371. The other part was owned by Hereš from Chylice in 1376. Subsequently one half belonged to Stach von Buchlovice, whose widow Dorota ceded her rights to Chylice in 1384 to Mirek von Smrčan. He signed his share of 13 hubs, three chalets and half of the tavern and a farm in 1415 to the widow Anna von Schellenberg, née von Rožďálovice. In 1418 Jan von Říčany signed the other half, including a farm, to the brothers Jobst and Jaroslav von Schellenberg. In 1447 Jaroslav sold the whole village with both farms and the tavern to Burian von Vlčnov. Jiří von Vlčnov left Chylice to Jiří von Landstein and Morawan in 1466. He was followed by Jindřich Bařický von Veletiny, who united the goods Chylice and Kvačice with the Ostroh dominion . In 1511 the rule became the inheritance of the Lords of Kunowitz. In 1592 the village consisted of 35 properties. In 1617 Jan Bernhard von Kunowitz inherited the rule. Because of the involvement in the Estates revolt in 1618 whose possessions were after the Battle of White Mountain of Ferdinand II. Confiscated and he fled to Transylvania . In the hoof register of 1669, 35 properties are shown for Chylice, three of which were desolate. In 1683 the Turks plundered the village again. In 1704 and 1705 the Kuruc invaded Chylice. In 1709 a large fire destroyed part of the village. The land registers have been kept since 1745. In 1782 the registers for Chylice were also created in the Nová Ves curate . In 1790, 412 people lived in the 44 houses in the village. In 1843 the village had 558 inhabitants and consisted of 96 houses. Until the middle of the 19th century, Chylice always remained subservient to Ostroh.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Chylice / Chilitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration Hradisch . In 1882 a parish was established in Nová Ves, which also includes Chylice. In 1900 the municipal cadastre comprised an area of ​​777 hectares, 490 hectares of which belonged to the Liechtenstein farm in Uherský Ostroh and 169 hectares to the Nová Ves farm. In 1920, 1930 and 1939 the March flooded parts of the village. On August 1, 1949, Chylice was incorporated as a settlement after Ostrožská Nová Ves and the community was assigned to the new Okres Veselí nad Moravou. In 1955, the quarrying of gravel sand started northwest of the village in the Marchauen. After the cancellation of the Okres Veselí nad Moravou, Chylice came back to the Okres Uherské Hradiště in late 1960. Since then Chylice has had the status of a district. Chylice had 667 inhabitants in 1991. In July 1997 the village was hit by the floods of the March and Petříkovec rivers. At the 2001 census there were 625 people in Chylice's 236 houses.
