Claire Curran (born March 10, 1978 in Belfast , Northern Ireland ) is a former British tennis player .

Career

Curran, who started tennis at the age of eight, was a member of the Irish and later the British Fed Cup team .

In her professional career, in which she almost exclusively competed in doubles, she won 12 double titles in ITF tournaments. On the other hand, she was denied success on the WTA Tour .

With five appearances in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament in doubles, she never got past the first round. In mixed she competed at Wimbledon in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 , and in the last two years she was able to reach the second round.
