Clarke Wilm (born October 24, 1976 in Central Butte , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Wilm began his career in 1991 with the Saskatoon J's in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League . After a strong first season, the center moved to the Saskatoon Blades in the Canadian Junior Ice Hockey League WHL during the current season . After the left shooter was able to improve over the years, he was selected in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round in a total of 150th position. Initially, however, he was only used in their farm team , the Saint John Flames in the American Hockey League , for two years . From the 1998/99 season Wilm finally ran on for the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League , for which he was active four seasons.

In 2002 the Canadian signed a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators . However, the contract was not renewed at the end of the season, so Wilm joined the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2003 , where he mainly ran up for the farm team St. John's Maple Leafs in the AHL. After another two years in Toronto , the attacker decided to work in Europe and switched to Jokerit Helsinki in the Finnish SM-liiga . Here Clarke Wilm developed into one of the top performers, but the Hamburg Freezers from the German Ice Hockey League were able to sign him for the 2008/09 season .

After two years in the Hamburg jersey, Wilm moved to league rivals Nürnberg Ice Tigers for the 2010/11 season , where he received a one-year contract and shirt number 17. After the season, the Canadian did not get a new contract in Nürnberg and then ended his active professional career.
