Clarksville is a city and county seat of Red River County in the US state of Texas . Almost 3,300 people live in an area of ​​almost eight square kilometers.

Clarksville is part of the Ark-La-Tex socio-economic region , which includes parts of the four states of Arkansas , Louisiana , Oklahoma, and Texas.

Clarksville is located in the northeast of the state of Texas in the southern United States. It is located in the middle of a landscape characterized by large lakes that stretches from northeast Oklahoma to the Gulf of Mexico .

The 2000 census showed a population of 3883 people, divided between 1530 households and 1006 families.
