Claudius von Stolzmann (* 1981 in Bonn ) is a German actor .

Career

Claudius von Stolzmann began his acting training in 2005 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main , until he left it after a year to continue his studies at the "Ernst Busch" University in Berlin .

During his studies, his first engagements took him to the Berlin Schaubühne, where he was seen in Lars Eidinger's production of the robbers from 2008 to 2010 . For this role he received the ensemble award in 2009 during the meeting of the drama schools in Zurich . At the same time, Stolzmann played the leading role in Charles Webb's The Graduation Exam at the Vienna Volkstheater (director: Felix Prader). For this commitment he was awarded the Karl Skraup Prize for “Best Young Talent” in 2009. During his time in Vienna he also worked at the Theater der Jugend , where he worked for the first time with director Henry Mason (Neil Bartlett's Charles Dickens' Great Expectations ).

In 2010 he was engaged at the Schauspiel Stuttgart and played a. a. Marinelli in Lessing's Emilia Galotti (directed by Barbara-David Brüesch) and Biff in the Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller (directed by Jan Neumann). He was also seen in “Dancer in the Dark” by Patrick Ellswort, a joint work by the Stuttgart Ballet and Schauspiel Stuttgart, and in Die Altruisten by Nicky Silver (both productions by Christian Brey ). Further positions took him back to Austria at the Volkstheater Vienna , where he played Harold in Higgins' Harold and Maude (director: Thomas Birkmeir ) in 2011 . This was followed by an engagement at the Reichenau Festival , where Stolzmann could be seen in the Rosenkavalier von Hofmannsthal in a spoken theater production by Hermann Beil . In 2013 and 2015 there was another collaboration with director Henry Mason, now for two Shakespeare productions at the Salzburg Festival - as Demetrius in a Midsummer Night's Dream and in the Comedy of Errors .

In addition to his stage appearances, Claudius von Stolzmann was also seen in film and television; he played u. a. in the crime series Tatort and in the movies Buffalo Soldiers '44 - The Miracle of St. Anna (2008) by Spike Lee and Anonymus (2011) by Roland Emmerich . In the film upside down by Bernd Sahling ( 2013 Berlin International Film Festival ) plays Stolzmann the educator.
