Clemens Giebel (* 1974 in Cologne ) is a German actor .

Life

Clemens Giebel completed his acting training from 1994 to 1998 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main . He completed his training with an acting diploma. Giebel, who received piano , drums and guitar lessons, had initially also prepared for a degree in music at the same time, but then decided to take up acting.

After first guest contracts in Frankfurt, Halle / Saale and at the Staatstheater Stuttgart (1997; as Paul in Eric Rohmer's Trio in E flat major ), he received his first permanent engagement at the Heidelberg Theater in 1998 . There he played u. a. Happy Loman in Death of a Salesman (1998) and Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening (2002; directed by Jule Ronstedt ).

From 2002 until the end of the 2009/10 season he was part of the drama ensemble of the Braunschweig State Theater . There he stepped u. a. as court chamber machinist Johann Nepomuk Mälzel in Der Maschinist von Lutz Hübner (2003; directed by Thomas Goritzki ), as Orest in the Elektra tragedy (2004; directed by Davud Bouchehri), as Michael in Das Fest von Thomas Vinterberg (2005; directed : Holger Berg ), as the painter Braun in Lonely People by Gerhart Hauptmann (2006; director: Thomas Krupa), as Mephisto in Faust I (2006; director: Wolfgang Gropper ), as Alexander DeLarge in A Clockwork Orange (2007; director: Eva Veiders), as Edgar in König Lear (2007; director: Wolfgang Gropper), as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (2008; director: Constanze Kreusch ), as Trofimow in Der Kirschgarten (2009; director: Wolfgang Gropper), as consul Christian Buddenbrook in John von Düffel's Thomas Mann adaptation of Buddenbrooks (2009; director: Wolfgang Gropper) and as Marquis von Posa in Don Karlos (2010; director: Mario Portmann).

Giebel has been working as a freelance actor since 2010. He first appeared at the Erlangen Theater (first time in 2010, as Michael Kohlhaas in Kohlhaas 05/10 ); there he later appeared as Leonce in Leonce and Lena (2012; director: Constanze Kreusch) and as the Duke of Burgundy in The Maiden of Orleans (2014; director: Thomas Krupa). Further guest engagements followed at Theater Bremerhaven (2011; as Count Leicester in Maria Stuart ), at Schauspiel Essen (2012), where he played the roles in the world premiere of the play The Aesthetics of Resistance based on the novel by Peter Weiss , directed by Thomas Krupa the resistance fighter Hans Coppi / Jakob Rosner participated, and at the Regensburg Theater (2012-2014). At the Regensburg Theater, Clemens Giebel a. a. den Franz Moor in Schiller's Die Räuber (2012; director: Marcus Lobbes).

In 2011 Giebel made a guest appearance at the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival as Marquis von Posa in Don Karlos . He has made several guest appearances at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater . In the summer of 2015 he entered there, under the direction of Thomas Goritzki and Max Tidof in the title role as a partner in Molière comedy Don Juan or the Stone Guest Don Juan's servant Sganerelle on. In the summer of 2016 he played Franz Moor in Die Räuber (Director: Thomas Goritzki).

In addition, Giebel worked in various film and television productions. In the ZDF crime series Marie Brand he was seen as Karsten Teske in the TV film Marie Brand and the Fall of Man (first broadcast: April 2011); he was the victim, a devout Christian who attended church regularly. In November 2016, Giebel was seen in the ZDF crime series SOKO Cologne in a leading role as the suspect, single father and landlord Jakob Müller, who tried to evict the owner of a miniature golf course from his property by all means. In December 2016, he played a supporting role in the ZDF series Die Chefin as lawyer Jan Kantereit, who is suspected of having been involved in the kidnapping of his client from prison. In the 15th season of the ZDF series The Public Prosecutor (2020) he had an episode supporting role as notary Dr. Wöllner.

Giebel, who plays several instruments, is also active as a musician. As musical director and producer, he was responsible for the stage music for various theater productions at the Regensburg Theater, a. a. in the summer of 2014 at the servant of two gentlemen in Regensburg. In summer 2013 he founded the band CATO JANKO together with the musician Rebekka Maier . Giebel also appears as a magician. At the Regensburg Theater he also presented his magic program Game of Life .

Giebel is the father of a daughter. His partner also worked temporarily as an actress at the Regensburg Theater. Giebel lives in Mainz .
