Collagna ( Emilian : Culâgna ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Ventasso in the province of Reggio Emilia , Emilia-Romagna region .
geography
The place is about 48 kilometers south-southwest of Reggio nell'Emilia in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park at an altitude of 830 m slm on the orographic left side of the valley of the same name through which the Secchia flows. The latter rises southwest of Collagna in the Alpe di Succiso.
history
Collagna was first mentioned in 1153. Until 1872 the place was called Culagna according to the local dialect . In 1920, numerous buildings were destroyed in an earthquake. Collagna was an independent municipality until 2015 and merged with the neighboring municipalities of Busana , Ligonchio and Ramiseto on January 1, 2016 to form the new municipality of Ventasso. The districts of Acquabona, Cerreto Alpi, Cerreto Laghi, Oratorio, Ponte Barone, Porali, Valbona and Vallisnera also belonged to the municipality of Collagna. The neighboring communities were Busana, Comano ( MS ), Fivizzano (MS), Ligonchio, Ramiseto and Sillano ( LU ). The community belonged to the mountain community Comunità montana dell'Appennino Reggiano .
