Gualtieri is an Italian municipality with 6366 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 22 kilometers north of Reggio nell'Emilia on the Po and borders directly on the province of Mantua .
Gualtieri is a member of the I borghi più belli d'Italia association (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).

The former Strada Statale 63 del Valico del Cerreto from Reggio nell'Emilia to Gualtieri is now a provincial road. The State Road 62 della Cisa has become a provincial or regional road.

The Gualtieri train station was the location of the last scene in the Italian-French film Don Camillo and Peppone (1952), where Don Camillo is bid farewell to Peppone and the members of the Communist Party on his train journey into the "temporary exile" .
