Scandiano is a municipality with 25,896 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Reggio Emilia , Emilia-Romagna region in the northern half of Italy . The closest major city is Modena to the east of Scandiano.
The city is a member of Cittaslow , a movement founded in Italy in 1999 to decelerate and increase the quality of life in cities through environmental policy, infrastructure policy, urban quality, upgrading of autochthonous products, hospitality, awareness and quality of the landscape.
