Fermo Camellini

Fermo Camellini (born December 7, 1914 in Scandiano , † August 27, 2010 in Beaulieu-sur-Mer ) was an Italian - French cyclist .

Fermo Camellini was a professional cyclist from 1937 to 1950. In 1942 he was tenth in the Vuelta a España . At the 1946 Giro d'Italia , he wore Maglia Rosa for four days . In 1946 he won Paris – Nice and in 1948 the Walloon Arrow . He also started three times in the Tour de France ; In 1947 he was seventh overall and won two stages as well as the mountain classification at the Col du Galibier , in 1948 he finished eighth overall. In 1947 he won the first stage of the first edition of the Critériums du Dauphiné and in 1948 took second place in the Challenge Desgrange-Colombo season .

Camellini was a native Italian, but took French citizenship in 1948. He died in 2010 at the age of 95 and was the oldest living victor of Paris-Nice in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France, where he had run a bicycle shop.
