Sant'Ilario d'Enza is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Reggio nell'Emilia and about nine kilometers southeast of Parma . The municipality borders directly on the province of Parma . The Enza flows through the municipality .

history

The former necropolis of Mavarta from the late 5th century AD is located in the municipality . In those times the village was known as Sant'Eulalia after a chapel dedicated to Saint Eulalia .

State road 9 runs through the municipality from Parma to Reggio nell'Emilia. The A1 Autostrada runs parallel to the north . There is a train station on the Milan – Bologna line .
