Cadelbosco di Sopra is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 10,779 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 8 kilometers northwest of Reggio nell'Emilia , about 22 kilometers east-southeast of Parma and about 65 kilometers northwest of Bologna .

history

The origins of the community go back to the middle of the 10th century. The current name was only given to the place itself when a fortress was built in the 13th century. The community was ravaged by the plague several times: records from 1630, 1800 and 1830 show numerous deaths.

traffic

The former Strada Statale 63 , which is only a provincial road today, runs through the municipality. South of this is the A1 Autostrada from Milan towards the Adriatic Sea .
