Villa Minozzo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3609 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 39 kilometers south-southwest of Reggio nell'Emilia in the Apennines . Villa Minozzo borders directly on the provinces of Modena and Lucca . The northern municipal boundary forms the Secchia , the eastern the Dolo .
history
The community has a larger Roman necropolis. While the rock and the courtyard of Melocium ( rocca di Melocia ) were marked as the property of Otto I and Otto II at the end of the 10th century , the place Minozzo was first mentioned in 1070.
