Colonia Linares is a town in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Colonia Linares is the largest town in the canton of Arrozales in the municipality of Bermejo in the south-eastern part of the province of Aniceto Arce . The village is located at an altitude of 391 m on the right bank of the Río Grande de Tarija , which forms the border with neighboring Argentina .

Colonia Linares is located on the southeastern edge of the Bolivian Andes chain in the transition to the Gran Chaco , which extends over northwest Paraguay , northeast Argentina and southeast Bolivia. The climate is subtropical with hot humid summers and moderately warm and dry winters.

Colonia Linares is located at a distance of 222 kilometers by road southeast of Tarija , the capital of the department.
Colonia Linares is located on the highway Ruta 33 , of the city of Bermejo in the south to Caraparí leads; From Caraparí, the Ruta 29 continues to Campo Pajoso and meets the lowland highway Ruta 9 , which leads from Yacuiba in the south via the metropolis of Santa Cruz all the way north to Guayaramerín in the Beni lowlands on the Brazilian border.
From Bermejo to the northwest, the paved road Ruta 1 leads via Padcaya and Valle de Concepción (previously: Uriondo ) to the capital Tarija. The Ruta 1 traverses from there in a northerly direction the entire Bolivian Altiplano and performs on the cities Potosí , Oruro and El Alto to Desaguadero at the Peruvian border.
To the south, the Ruta Nacional 50 leads from Bermejo on the Argentine side to the northern Argentine cities of Aguas Blancas and Pichanal .
