Coupe de France (basketball)

The Coupe de France in basketball is the French national cup competition. The competition is organized by the Fédération Française de Basket Ball . For the first time in 1953, ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne was chosen as a French basketball cup winner.

The record holder of the men's title is ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, who won 9 cup competitions. The current title holder (2019) is also Lyon-Villeurbanne.

The record holder of the women's title is Bourges Basket with 9 cup competitions won since the revival of the cup competition in 1996. Bourges is also the current title holder (2019).

Men's

The men's trophy has also been known as the Robert Busnel Trophy since 1996 , after the basketball player Robert Busnel who died in 1991 .

Competition mode

All teams of the first basketball league LNB Pro A , the second basketball league LNB Pro B and the first amateur league Nationale 1 take part in the cup competition . The games are played as direct elimination games.
