history
The Old Wakulla County Courthouse , which was used until after World War II , is the only one that has survived in all of Florida, which is highlighted by Crawfordville's early boosters . The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 3, 1976 .
Although the village has grown rapidly in recent years and now has a rather high population density, it is still not a municipality . In contrast, there are still two small communities in the Wakulla County area, which together make up an extremely small proportion of the population at three percent.
Crawfordville was named after Dr. Crawford who lived there in the late 19th century.
