Adolf Hermann Curt Bernhard von Kronhelm (born August 13, 1859 in Glatz , † April 16, 1937 in Halle (Saale) ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Military career

Kronhelm graduated from the Cadet Corps and on April 14, 1877 was transferred as a Second Lieutenant to the 4th Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 51 of the Prussian Army . There he was promoted to prime lieutenant in mid-February 1887 . In 1890 he was assigned to the Cadet House Wahlstatt as a teacher under position à la suite of the regiment . On January 27, 1892 he was promoted to captain and on March 25, 1893 transferred to the cadet corps. Kronhelm returned to his regular regiment on March 16, 1894 and was chief of the 10th and later the 6th company. As a surplus major , he was transferred to Königsberg on November 18, 1902 in the grenadier regiment "Kronprinz" (1st East Prussian) No. 1 and in 1904 appointed commander of the fusilier battalion. This was followed in July 1909 as a lieutenant colonel and battalion commander in the infantry regiment "Duke Karl von Mecklenburg-Strelitz" (6th East Prussian) No. 43 . In 1910, Kronhelm was promoted to the regiment staff as a regular staff officer. With his promotion to colonel , Kronhelm was appointed commander of the 2nd Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 47 in Poznan on April 22, 1912 . As such, he was invited on March 6, 1913 "by order of their Imperial and Royal Majesties" to the Marshal's table in the Elisabeth Hall of the Berlin Palace . With the approval of his resignation request , Kronhelm was put up for disposal on March 22, 1914 with the statutory pension and from April 1, 1914 he was ordered to serve at the command of the Landwehr district of Halle (Saale).

During the First World War , Kronhelm was reused as a ZD officer. He acted as leader of the Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 231 and took his leave as Major General.

family

On March 29, 1890, he married Clara Schwarz (* December 7, 1862, † October 16, 1943) in the garrison church in Breslau , the daughter of Franz Schwarz, President of the General Commission for the Province of Silesia . His daughter Karin von Kronhelm (1893–1986) was born to him on March 24, 1893 and she will marry the theologian Ernst von Dobschütz (1870–1934). Two years later (1895) their son Horst was born, and in the following year 1896 their son Joachim was born.
