The gmina wiejska Czarnków [ ˈʧarnkuf ] is an independent rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Czarnkowsko-Trzcianecki in the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Its seat is in the city of Czarnków ( German Czarnikau ). The rural community, to which the city of Czarnków itself does not belong, has an area of ​​347.8 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 11,421 people live.

The rural community is crossed by the network (Noteć). It is located about forty kilometers south of the city of Piła ( Schneidemühl ) and surrounds the city of Czarnków in the west, north and east.

Neighboring municipalities are the City Czarnków and rural communities Budzyn ( Budsin ), Chodzież ( Kolmar ), Lubasz ( Lubasch ) Polajewo ( Güldenau ) Ryczywół ( Ritsch Walde ), Trzcianka ( Schönlanke ) Ujście ( Usch ) and Wieleń ( Filehne ).

history

The German-Polish border ran from 1920 to 1939 along the network through the area of ​​today's municipality. From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Piła Voivodeship .
