The 6th DFB indoor women's cup was held on January 17, 1999 . The venue was Dessau for the first time and for the only time so far . The 1. FFC Frankfurt defeated in the final to FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen with 5: 1. For Frankfurt it was the third tournament victory.
The twelve teams of the current Bundesliga season took part in the tournament. The mode was changed again: the teams were divided into two groups of six teams each. Within each group, each team played each other once. The two thirds in the group then played for 5th place, the runners-up for 3rd place and the group winners for the tournament victory. If it was a draw in the knockout games after regular time, a nine-meter shoot-out followed immediately.
