The 8th DFB indoor women's cup was held on January 20, 2001 in Bonn . The venue was the Hardtberghalle . The Sportfreunde Siegen beat in the final of the FFC Brauweiler Pulheim 2: 0th For victories it was the first tournament victory.

The twelve teams of the current Bundesliga season took part in the tournament. The teams were divided into two groups of six teams each. Within each group, each team played each other once. The two runners-up then played for third place, the group winners for the tournament victory.
