Dana Ivey (born August 12, 1941 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American actress .

Career

Ivey is the daughter of actress Mary Nell Santacroce . At the age of six, she is said to have decided to become an actress. She made her first appearances at the theater of Rollins College in Florida . She studied at the Academy of Music and Art in London . In the 1960s she made her first appearances in film and television productions and has since appeared in numerous productions, mostly in supporting roles.

Above all, Ivey is a sought-after theater and musical actress. She was nominated five times for the Tony Award between 1984 and 2007 . In January 2008 she was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame .

Ivey lives in New York City .
