Daniel Doujenis

Daniel Doujenis (born July 1964 in Vienna ) is a Greek - Austrian actor .

Life

Daniel Doujenis, the son of a Greek father, moved to Greece with his family when he was five. There he attended the German school in Athens and passed the German Abitur there in 1983 . Then he returned to his native Vienna .

From 1986 to 1990 he studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz , which he graduated with honors as a Magister Artium .

He then had various theater engagements on stages in Germany , a. a. at the Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim , at the Städtische Bühnen Augsburg , at the Stadttheater Hildesheim , at the Schauspiel Frankfurt and at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf . In Germany he performed a. a. as Peer Gynt , Amphitryon , Marinelli ( Emilia Galotti ) and as George Garga ( In the Thicket of Cities ). During this time he also made guest appearances at international theater and cultural festivals in Bogotá , Cairo , the former Yugoslavia (Belgrade) and Iran .

From 2000 to 2008 Doujenis was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz , where he a. a. Tellheim , Tartuffe , Lenz , Leicester and Othello played.

Since the 2008/09 season he has worked as a freelance actor and director. Since then he has performed a. a. at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (including notes in A Midsummer Night's Dream , 2009/10 season and Delamarche / Schubal in America , 2010/11 season) and at the Landestheater Linz (2008/09 season, as Michel in Houellebecqs Elementarteilchen ).

In 2012 he played the dealer in Bernard-Marie Koltès ' two-person play In the loneliness of the cotton fields in “ Drama Graz ” . In the 2012/13 season he was seen at the Graz Opera House in the role of the “sovereign, supple presenter” Luigi in the operetta Gasparone . In the season 2018/19 he joined there in the operetta Polish Wedding of Joseph Beer on.

As a theater director he staged a. a. at the children's and youth theater Next Liberty in Graz and at the Schauspielhaus Graz.

Daniel Doujenis also worked in several German and Austrian cinema and television productions. He turned u. a. with Kai Wessel , Jakob M. Erwa , Marie Kreutzer and Peter Sämann . In the 8th season of the TV series SOKO Kitzbühel (2009) he took on one of the episode roles as the arrogant, unsympathetic publisher Gerd Fuhrmann, alongside Sylvia Leifheit and Raphael von Bargen .

Doujenis has repeatedly appeared with his own literary programs and readings (including at the Styriarte and in the Literaturhaus Graz). In 2019 he presented his musical-literary project about Leonard Cohen at the "Artists" (former Drama Graz ) in Graz .

Since 2000/01 he has been working in the drama department of the Graz University of Art as a senior lecturer for the subjects of “Dramatic Lessons” and “Role Design”.

Doujenis is the father of three daughters and lives in Graz.
