Daniel Gottlieb von Bülow

Daniel Gottlieb von Bülow (* 1718  ; † June 28, 1757 in Dresden ) was a Prussian colonel and commander of a grenadier battalion .

Life

origin

Daniel Gottlieb was a member of the Mecklenburg noble family von Bülow . His parents were the Prussian officer Daniel Levin von Bülow (1677–1758) and his wife Dorothea Margarethe von Schlubhut (1691–1742). The general of the infantry Johann Albrecht von Bülow (1708–1776) and the general of the cavalry Christoph Karl von Bülow (1716–1788) were his brothers.

military service

Bülow was a wing adjutant in the first two Silesian Wars . He was promoted to major in 1742 and lieutenant colonel in September 1754 . In 1756 he received the command over a grenadier battalion to two infantry companies of the regiments "guard" and "Prussia" was composed. In February 1757 he was promoted to colonel .

Bülow was fatally wounded during the siege of Prague , but only died after the siege was abandoned while retreating in Dresden.

family

Bülow married Anna Sophia von Köhler, daughter of Hofrat August von Köhler and Rudolphine von Casarotti, and had two sons with her.
