Dankward Buwitt (born July 6, 1939 in Berlin ) is a German sales representative , businessman and politician ( CDU ) from Berlin-Neukölln .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1954, Buwitt completed a commercial apprenticeship and worked in his profession for two years from 1957. From 1959 to 1963 he completed further training in sales. He then worked as a car salesman and was also a travel agent and sales manager in the chemical industry until 1971 . From 1971 Buwitt worked as a freelance businessman and sales representative, and since 1991 he has been a commercial employee of a Berlin real estate company.

politics

Buwitt joined the CDU in 1968 and was local association chairman in Neukölln from 1974 to 1991. In addition, he was district chairman in Neukölln from 1981 to 1997. At the time he belonged to the so-called K group in the Berlin CDU . From 1991 to 1993 he was the state treasurer . In 1975 he was first elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he belonged until 1991. There he was parliamentary group chairman from 1984 to 1989 and executive group chairman from 1989 to 1989. In the federal election in 1990 , Buwitt was elected to parliament in constituency 256 (Berlin-Neukölln) . He was Deputy Chairman of the Finance Committee and Deputy Member of the Defense Committee and, since October 1992, of the European Union Special Committee . In the 1994 federal election he was re-elected in the constituency , which was now named constituency 257 (Berlin-Neukölln). He was a full member of the Budget Committee and the Audit Committee, which he also belonged to after the 1998 Bundestag election , after which he entered parliament via the state list . In the 2002 Bundestag elections , he decided not to run again.
