Darius Trijonis (born April 21, 1973 in Telšiai , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Vilnius .

Life

After graduating from high school in Telšiai in 1991, Darius Trijonis studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Telšiai seminary . In 1996 he completed his internship in the Baltic Sea spa town of Palanga , where Trijonis worked with Ateitininkai and taught catechetics in all three city schools. He received on May 18, 1997 the Bishop of Telšiai , Antanas Vaičius , the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1999, Trijonis obtained a degree in Catholic theology from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome .

After returning to his home country, he was prefect and lecturer at the Telšiai seminary until 2002 . 2006 doctorate Darius Trijonis in specialized moral theology at the Pontifical Academy Alphonsian in Rome. From 2005 to 2007 Trijonis was Subregens and a teacher at the Telšiai Seminary. In 2006 he also became a lecturer in catechetics at the University of Klaipėda . From 2007 to 2008 he was prefect of studies at the Telšiai seminary. In 2008 Darius Trijonis became pastor in Plikiai . From 2010 to 2015 Trijonis was Undersecretary of the Lithuanian Bishops' Conference and from 2013 to 2014 taught at the Vilnius Seminary . In 2015 he became parish administrator at the Cathedral of St. Anthony in Telšiai.

On 29 September 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Fissiana and auxiliary bishop in Vilnius. The Archbishop of Vilnius, Gintaras Linas Grušas , donated him episcopal ordination on December 16 of the same year . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Audrys Cardinal Bačkis and the Bishop of Telšiai , Kęstutis Kėvalas .
