etymology

The word component 'Das' is derived from the animal name badger , 'Nöckel' means hill or elevation.

history

Dasnöckel was first mentioned in 1677 as a five hectare estate. It was created as split ends from schieten .

In the map series Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, the place with the name 'Dasnickel' is shown. At this time Dasnöckel lies in the acute angle of a fork in the road that comes from the east of Gräfrath and leads down to Bies and Rottscheidt on the one hand and via Nockershäuschen to Nocken down the Vohwinkeler depression .

Dasnöckel belonged to the mayor's office of Sonnborn , separated from Haan in 1867 , which was transferred to the municipality of Vohwinkel in 1888, losing territory to Elberfeld .

In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province of 1888, two houses with ten residents are given.

On the topographic map (TK25) from 1892/94 the location 'Dasnöckel' is labeled.

1971–74 a larger new building area was developed and the Dasnöckel street was laid out. 660 publicly funded apartments and 172 condominiums with underground parking for 166 cars were built on behalf of the Munich-based Grund Group.

Historical building fabric has not been preserved.

Today's street

The street Dasnöckel was named after this location on April 14, 1969 . It opens up the new building area in an arc from Ehrenhainstraße to the east.
