David Koeckert

David Köckert (born February 10, 1979 in Pasewalk ) is a right-wing extremist activist and German local politician (non-party, formerly AfD , NPD , Die Republikaner ). He is considered the leader of the Thuringian Pegida offshoot "Thügida".

Life

David Köckert was born in Pasewalk and has lived in Greiz since 1985 . In 1995 Köckert graduated from the tenth grade. He then completed his training as a building construction worker until 1998 . Köckert is married, has four children and is now self-employed. He is considered to have multiple criminal records. As a tattoo, he wears a black sun covering half of his face .

activism

In the 1990s, Köckert was the head of the comradeship "Brown Devils", which was also called the "alcoholocaust". In 2003 he opened the “Ragnorök” shop in Reichenbach together with his then partner . It was later located in Mylau and closed in 2009. Textiles and sound carriers were sold for right-wing extremist customers.

Köckert was a member of the AfD from 2013 to February 2014 . From 2014 to 2016 Köckert was a member of the NPD . Here he held the function of the regional organization manager of the NPD Thuringia . He has been a member of the Greiz district council for the NPD since 2014 .

Köckert wanted to run as a single candidate in the Mayor elections in Greiz in April 2018 . The election committee rejected the nomination in March 2018. In June 2018, Detlev Stauch, state chairman of the Republicans in Thuringia, distanced himself from Köckert. Köckert's application for membership had been rejected.

Köckert works as an activist of the "Thügida" in Thuringia . "Thügida" has been organizing anti-asylum demonstrations since the end of 2015. The association THÜGIDA & Wir liebe Sachsen , based in Greiz , has existed since November 2016. The chairman is David Köckert.

At the “Funeral March” in Köthen on September 9, 2018, Köckert appeared as a speaker. He spoke of a "racial war against the German people", the police described Köckert as "mercenaries in blue, characterless" and he announced to the representatives of the press that journalists "will find themselves in the dark cellar if they come to power".

His name is mentioned several times in reports for the protection of the constitution .

On October 30, 2018, it was reported that Köckert had been arrested during a raid and that arrest warrants had been issued against him and another accused. Köckert is accused of extortion and social security fraud.

After the arrest warrant had been suspended in the meantime, Köckert was arrested again on November 29, 2018 because he was alleged to have intimidated a witness. A trial date on November 30th confirmed this decision.

In May 2019 he was sentenced by the Gera regional court to a fine of 230 daily rates of 20 euros each. The court saw it as proven that Köckert had been guilty of bodily harm, illicit gun possession and insult. In addition, Köckert was punished for deleting files that were on the smartphone of an employee of his tattoo parlor without permission.
