David Parland (2009)

David Parland (born September 26, 1970 in Sweden ; † March 19, 2013 ibid) was a Swedish guitarist who became known under the name Blackmoon . He was a founding member of the bands Necrophobic , Dark Funeral , War and Infernal .

Life

David Parland was a founding member of Necrophobic and Dark Funeral. With this band he recorded the first self-titled EP and the debut album The Secrets of the Black Arts . He was also involved in the black metal supergroup War . In 1996 Parland left Necrophobic and Dark Funeral and formed the black metal band Infernal, which released several EPs .

Parland founded the independent label Hellspawn Records in 1994 with which he released his own bands Infernal, War and the debut EP by Dark Funeral. Other bands on his label were VON (whose recordings he released as a bootleg ), Abruptum and Deathwitch . In addition, the label released various tribute albums for Bathory and Morbid Angel .

From 2002 to 2009 he left the metal scene as far as possible, but then surprisingly founded a new, initially nameless project in 2009, which eventually became a new edition of Infernal.

Parland died on March 19, 2013. The circumstances of his death are unknown.
