David Pastor (musician)

David Pastor (born April 29, 1974 in Sedaví ) is a Spanish jazz musician ( trumpet , composition , arrangement ).

Live and act

Pastor began playing the trumpet in 1983 in the Agrupación Musical Santa Cecilia ; he received lessons from Manuel López. In 1988 he began to occupy himself with jazz, attended the Taller de Jazz in Sedaví and played with the Valencia Jazz Band under the direction of Ramón Cardo. He completed his studies with Jaume Espigolé at the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Barcelona (Spain) and was trained by Bobby Shew , Claudio Roditi , George Vosburgh and Michael Philip Mossman .

Pastor has appeared at the international jazz festivals of Montreal , Jazz Montreux , Cully , the Mercado Cultural de Salvador de Bahia (Brazil) as well as the Spanish festivals of San Sebastián and Barcelona and in New York's Carnegie Hall . There was collaboration with singers and pop groups such as Celia Cruz , Michael Bublé , Armando Manzanero , Presuntos Implicados , Sole Giménez, Lucrecia , Martirio , Miguel Poveda, Santiago Auserón, Seguridad Social , Lolita, Jaime Urrutia and the Fundación Tony Manero . In the field of jazz he has performed with Clark Terry , Chris Cheek , Mike Mossman, Steve Marcus , Richie Cole , Jack Walrath , Paquito D'Rivera , Frank Wess , Slide Hampton , Pat Metheny , Bob Mintzer , Danilo Pérez , Jerry Gonzalez , Giovanni Hidalgo , Donald Harrison , Joan Albert Amargós , Perico Sambeat , Ximo Tebar , Jorge Pardo , Mario Rossy , Eladio Reinón , Joan Soler and Jordi Vilá.

Pastor released his debut album in 2002. In 2014 he presented an album with the Nu Roots ; more albums followed under his own name. There were also collaborations in classical music, for example with the National Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova and the Gran Canarias Philharmonic.
