David Walliams
David Walliams , OBE , born David Edward Williams (born August 20, 1971 in Merton , London ) is a British actor and writer of children's books. He is best known for his collaboration with Matt Lucas on the television series Little Britain and as a jury member on the talent show Britain's Got Talent .
Life
David Walliams attended Reigate Grammar School and later was a member of the National Youth Theater , where he also met his future comedy partner Matt Lucas . Like Lucas, he studied acting in Bristol .
His first television appearance was on Games World in 1993 . He wrote texts for the Doctor Who parodies The Pitch of Fear , The Web of Caves and The Kidnappers and also stood in front of the camera. In 2003 he appeared in the television series EastEnders . He starred in the movie Shaun of the Dead with Matt Lucas . In 2006 he published a documentary about James Bond .
In July 2006, Walliams swam the English Channel for Sport Relief , raising over half a million pounds for an orphanage in Ethiopia.
In November 2007 he starred in Stephen Poliakoff's television film Capturing Mary . He was praised by critics for his portrayal as a polite and dangerous manipulator. In 2007, Walliams appeared in Der Sternwanderer alongside Claire Danes and Robert De Niro in the cinema.
In early 2008, he signed a contract with the American publisher HarperCollins . Kicker im Kleid is his first children's book to be published. It's about a boy who discovers his joy in cross-dressing . The book was illustrated with black and white drawings by Quentin Blake . The book is aimed at children between eight and twelve years of age.
The second book was published in November 2009 and is titled Allow me to Mr. Stink . Again, Quentin Blake illustrated the story. It is about a twelve-year-old girl who grants asylum to a homeless person and hides him from her family.
It was followed by Billion Boy . The plot tells the story of the richest twelve-year-old in the world who, despite all the money, is simply not happy.
From May 16, 2010 to September 2015, he was married to model Lara Stone , whom he met in 2009. Their son was born on May 5, 2013.
In October 2011, Walliams' fourth book, Gangsta Granny , was published. It's about Ben who has to spend the summer with his grandma. He finds out that his grandma was a well-known jewel thief in her youth and is still after the British Crown Jewels .
Since 2012 Walliams part of the jury of the British talent show Britain's Got Talent .
On June 16, 2017 it was announced that he would be awarded an Order of the British Empire , and also in 2017 Walliams was awarded the International in the Irish Book Awards “in recognition of his significant contribution to children's literature in the past decade” Recognition Award .
