Davin White (born December 31, 1981 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American basketball player . After completing his studies, White turned pro in 2005 and initially played in " minor leagues " in his home country and in Mexico , where he won the CIBACOPA championship in 2011 as player of the year with the Mineros de Cananea . After he had his first short-term engagement in Europe in the Serbian league in 2009, he joined the German first division team Phoenix Hagen during the 2011/12 basketball Bundesliga , where he played a major role as top scorer in the 2012/13 basketball league had that this first reached the play-offs for the German championship. Then White played in Bulgaria and since the end of 2013 for Maccabi Rishon LeZion from Israel .

Career

White began studying at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) in his home state's Maricopa County in 2000 . He holds various personal records for their college team Coyotes in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA). After two seasons until 2002, he later had the opportunity to continue his studies at California State University, Northridge , where he played two more college seasons from 2003 with the Matadors in the Big West Conference of the NCAA . In 2004 you could reach the final game of Big West, which was lost by two points. But one remained without participation in the national NCAA finals .

After the study in late 2005 White turned pro and initially joined in the minor league ABA to in Canada based Niagara Daredevils on, but einstellten operation before the season starts. Back in Arizona, White went across the border to Mexico to the Mineros from Cananea , who play in the CIBACOPA Championship in Northwest Mexico . With the team, he won the runner-up in 2006 in their premiere season in the CIBACOPA. Then White should also play in the LNBP Mexico in the 2006 season for a team from Tamaulipas . Finally, in September 2006, White moved into the extended squad of the Phoenix Suns , the club from his hometown in the highest-endowed professional league NBA . Here he was only deleted from the squad shortly before the start of the season at the end of October. Thereupon White went back to California and played for the newly formed Arsenal from Anaheim in the NBA Development League (D-League). In the following two seasons for Arsenal and at the end of the 2007/08 season for the Colorado 14ers, White could not recommend himself again for a use in the NBA. For the Mineros de Cananea he was then active again in the CIBACOPA, where he was invited to the All-Star Game 2008.

In January 2009, the Serbian first division club KK Lions from Vršac committed to the Košarkaška liga Srbije White for a short-term contract. After he had already returned to Mexico and had two assignments in the LNBP, the contract was extended for the rest of the season in Serbia. KK Lions reached the first place in the preliminary round, which were played without the teams active in international competitions and the ABA league . In the intermediate round, or the qualification for the play-offs , one could then no longer qualify for the championship finals when these teams participated and in the end secured fifth place in the Serbian championship. After his first engagement in Europe, however, White returned to Mexico and played for the Mineros de Cananea in the following two seasons in the CIBACOPA. With the team he won the 2011 CIBACOPA championship and was named “Player of the Year”. In the 2011/12 season he was finally committed by the Halcones from Xalapa . With the record champions of the LNBP, however, he was eliminated in the quarter-final play-offs of the championship.

After the end of the championship play-offs in Mexico in 2012, White was free for an obligation by the German first division club Phoenix from Hagen , which despite the spelling does not derive its name from White's birthplace, but from the mythological bird Phoenix . With the club he achieved relegation again in the basketball Bundesliga 2011/12 . Then he was again active for the Mineros in the CIBACOPA, but they could not defend their title. With the Hageners, White was able to agree on a further commitment for the basketball Bundesliga 2012/13 , in which White advanced to the " top scorer " of all players and played a significant role in reaching the championship finals for the Hagen club for the first time. There they were eliminated in the first play-off round against defending champion Brose Baskets . Then White signed a contract with the Bulgarian champions PBK Lukoil Akademik from the capital Sofia for the following season . After being eliminated in the preliminary round of the 2013/14 Eurocup , White left the club and moved to Israel to Maccabi from Rishon LeZion in the top division Ligat ha'Al , which meant that he could not return to the German Bundesliga.
