Death on the Road is the sixth live album by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden . The album was released on August 30, 2005 via EMI .
background
The album was recorded on November 24, 2003 in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle . In addition to the six songs on the Dance of Death album, only Lord of the Flies has not yet been heard on the Maiden live albums that have been released so far. The album cover was designed by Melvyn Grant.
On February 6, 2006, a DVD version of Death on the Road was released. This version contains three DVDs. The concert can be heard on the first DVD in 5.1 digital audio sound. The second DVD contains the concert in stereo . The third DVD contains a 70-minute documentary about the creation of the album and the preparations for the tour. The video clips for Wildest Dreams , Rainmaker and No More Lies can also be seen.
The album was also released as a strictly limited picture disc .
When the best-of- album Edward the Great was reissued in 2005 , the fear-of-the-dark version of Death on the Road was added.

Death on The Road reached high chart positions in several European countries, but was only able to place in the top ten in Sweden and Finland. In Germany the album reached number 17.
