Demeusel is a part of the municipality of Rosenbach / Vogtl. in the Saxon Vogtland . The village belonging to the locality of Leubnitz is located west of Plauen , around 4 km from the state border with Thuringia .

history
The name of the place is Old Sorbian and is derived from Henricus Themuzlerus, first mentioned in 1294 . 1301 is the spelling Heinricus Themuzler . In 1328 the place was first documented as part of Temuesel . The spelling changed several times over the centuries until the current place name Demeusel was established in 1791 .
On January 1, 1974, the place was incorporated into Rodau . On January 1, 1999 Rodau, including the district Demeusel, merged with the previously independent municipalities of Leubnitz , Rößnitz and Schneckengrün to form the new municipality of Leubnitz. Leubnitz, to which Demeusel now belonged, finally left on January 1, 2011 in the Rosenbach / Vogtl community. on.
