Oberpirk is part of the municipality of Rosenbach / Vogtl. in the Saxon Vogtland . The village belonging to the locality Mehltheuer is located west of Plauen , on the border with Thuringia .

geography

Oberpirk is in the north of the municipality of Rosenbach / Vogtl. and borders on five other districts of the municipality and one district of the municipality of Zeulenroda-Triebes in the Thuringian district of Greiz . In the village, the state road 316 joins the federal road 282 . In the village the brook "Höhle" flows into the Peintenbach, which in turn flows into the Weida .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1402 as " zu obern Pirck ", the meaning of the name is derived from "place near the birch or at the birch grove". The spelling changed from Obern Birck , Pirgk, das Öbere , to Bircke , Oberbirck and others to the current name Oberpirk . Since 1506 the place belonged to the office of Plauen . After belonging to the Pausa court office from 1856 and to the Plauen administration from 1875, the place finally became part of the Plauen-Land district in 1952 . 1974 Oberpirk was incorporated into Mehltheuer. Together with Mehltheuer, the place belongs to the municipality of Rosenbach / Vogtl on January 1, 2011 .
