history

The place was first mentioned in 1297 as Roseniz . The name is probably derived from the Slavic brook name "Crosenicz", which in turn is derived from the word "grozny" - "terrible", possibly in connection with cultic ideas. Since 1506 the place belonged to the office of Plauen . After belonging to the Pausa court office from 1856 and to the Plauen administration from 1875, the place finally became part of the Plauen-Land district in 1952 . In 1999 Rößnitz was incorporated into Leubnitz. Together with Leubnitz, the place has been part of the Rosenbach / Vogtl community since January 1, 2011 .
