The place was first mentioned in 1298 as villa Trachans . Possibly the name derives genitive from the Old Sorbian personal name "Drogan". Since 1506 the place belonged to the office of Plauen . After belonging to the Pausa court office from 1856 and to the Plauen administration from 1875, the place finally became part of the Plauen-Land district in 1952 . 1974 Drochaus was incorporated into Mehltheuer. Together with Mehltheuer, the place has been part of the Rosenbach / Vogtl community since January 1, 2011 .
