Denys Olexandrowytsch Schaforostow ( Ukrainian Денис Олександрович Шафоростов , born May 4, 1992 in Donetsk , Ukraine ), known by his stage name Denis Stoff , is a Ukrainian rock and metalcore musician. He was the singer of the bands Make Me Famous , Down and Dirty and was the front man of the British band Asking Alexandria from 2015 to 2016 .

Musical career

Stoff's career began in 2010 when he joined the Ukrainian trancecore band Make Me Famous as the second singer and guitarist . The musicians discovered material on the video platform YouTube , where he posted various vocal cover videos. With the band he released the EP Keep This In Your Music Player in 2011 . After signing with the American record label Sumerian Records , the release of the debut album It's Now or Never followed a year later . At the end of November 2012 he was kicked out of the band by the other musicians due to internal conflicts, the contract with Sumerian Records was terminated and the musicians separated.

While the other musicians founded a new band with Oceans Red , Stoff announced in October 2013 that they had founded their own band , Down and Dirty . This has meanwhile been signed by Sumerian Records, like Make Me Famous before. With Down and Dirty he only brought out two songs.

After the former singer of Asking Alexandria , Danny Worsnop , announced his departure from the band on January 22nd, 2015, Stoff was introduced as the new lead singer on May 26th, 2015. Even before the official announcement, there were speculations that Stoff would take over the post of lead singer, not least because of the musical similarity between Asking Alexandria and Stoff's first band Make Me Famous. The first two concerts that the group wanted to play with Stoff had to be canceled due to visa problems, so that Stoff made his first appearances with the band at the sister festivals Rock am Ring and Rock im Park . In March 2016, Stoff released the studio album The Black with Asking Alexandria .

After weeks of speculation, rumors about Stoffs' split from Asking Alexandria were confirmed by guitarist Ben Bruce in October 2016 .
