Colón is one of the 18 departments in Honduras ( Central America ) and is located in the north of the country on the Caribbean coast .

The capital of the department is Trujillo . The population of Colón is largely made up of Garifuna . In addition to the beaches on the Caribbean coast, there are national parks in Colón that are worth seeing.

The department of Colón, in turn, is administratively divided into ten municipalities :
