The Sargento Cabral Department is located in the eastern center of the Chaco Province in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 25  administrative units .

It borders on the Libertador General San Martín Department in the north, the Primero de Mayo Department in the east, the General Donovan Department in the south, the Presidencia de la Plaza Department in the southwest and the Veinticinco de Mayo Department in the west .

The capital of the Sargento Cabral department is Colonia Elisa .
