The Quitilipi Department is located in the center of the Chaco Province in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 25 administrative units .
It is bordered by the Department of Maipú to the north and northwest , the Department of Libertador General San Martín to the north and northeast , the Department of Veinticinco de Mayo to the east, the Department of San Lorenzo to the south and the Department of Comandante Fernández to the west .
The capital of the Quitilipi department is the Quitilipi of the same name . It is 140 kilometers from the provincial capital Resistencia and 1,160 kilometers from Buenos Aires .
