The Doce de Octubre Department is located in the southwest of the Chaco Province in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 25 administrative units .

It borders on the Chacabuco Department in the north, the Mayor Luis Jorge Fontana Department in the east, the Fray Justo Santa María de Oro Department in the south and the Santiago del Estero Province in the west .
