action

Rambo visits his old childhood friend Pino after a long time. Pino leads a civil life. He is a police officer and has a wife and a son. Pino wants to recruit Rambo for the police, but Rambo refuses this request.

When the son of an industrialist is kidnapped, Pino sees his chance. He wants to arrest the criminals. Pino has learned that the gangster Conti and his gang are behind the kidnapping. Pino has to pay for his investigation with his death. Rambo is appalled by the death of his friend and does not want to leave his death unpunished. He points out to the rival gang of gangsters from Paternò that Conti was behind the kidnapping. At first the groups of Conti and Paternò fight each other. Several gang members are killed. After heavy losses, Ciccio Paternò brokered a peace agreement between the two criminal groups. Both groups now want to kill Rambo together.

Rambo is lucky to survive an assassination attempt. As a result he succeeds in tricking the groups, freeing the boy and killing Conti. Isolated and humiliated at the end of the fighting, Paternò commits suicide. Rambo foregoes any reward and drives away on his motorcycle.

criticism

The lexicon of international films judged the work to be “an action-packed gangster film with a clear vigilante mentality; the extremely brutal passages of the film are partly defused by the comedic play. ” Michael Cholewa directs the standard genre work Der Teufel :“ Umberto Lenzi has once again succeeded in another entertaining showpiece. ”The Segnalazioni Cinematografiche praised the very good staging and representation and noted , The well-known motives for kidnapping and vigilante justice find a new interpretation in that “the protagonist, like the old knights on their horse, now on his motorcycle without paying attention to money or prestige, campaigns for the defense of the weak (even if wealthy) and the oppressed .
