action

The first day of spring of the year ... the endorphins shoot into the herb. But with Dolly and her husband Robert Hiller, of all people, who have been happily married for 20 years, everything seems to be turning into the opposite on this day, and both are challenged by severe temptations. Because on the first day of spring, the Hillers' marital happiness is put to a severe and serious test: Dolly gets to know the handsome and urbane Bruno, who has just returned from Africa to look for a wife for life. The well-known singer Bettina Morelli, on the other hand, makes Robert look beautiful today, as many times before.

But the two mature Hillers are not alone with their hormonal turbulence. They have three young and partly grown-up children who are just going through the first hurricanes of feelings themselves, from the first love to the small grief to the great disappointment. Only when all the family members come home at midnight and the flirtatious couple Dolly and Robert speak out, a turbulent, exhausting and insightful day comes to an end.

Reviews

Der Spiegel wrote: “Three scriptwriters have freshened up Dodie Smith's faded family comedy with fashionable jargon, diet punchlines and Grace Kelly allusions. Of the six spring couples that the film brings together, one is far ahead of the rest in terms of grace and wit: the mature family mother (Luise Ullrich) and the farmer who wants to take her to Africa (Robert Freitag). Ullrich continues to win new flirtatious, warm nuances from her standard role, the forty-four who, to her own delightful surprise, is courted again. "

In the lexicon of international films it says: "Luise Ullrich in one of her standard roles as a smart average woman."

Cinema judged: "Old-fashioned but respectable"
