action

Comanche Todd is a white man who grew up among the Comanches . He was captured by Sheriff Bull Harper for murdering his three brothers. The sheriff and his prisoner join a trek to Tucson . The trek is led by Colonel Normand.

The travelers are outraged by the brutal sheriff's treatment of the prisoner and soon feel more sympathy for the murderer than for the hand of the law. During a nighttime break, some children and teenagers disappear to go swimming. When they return, they discover that the trek has been attacked by Apaches and that all but Comanche Todd have been killed. Todd becomes the leader of their trek for the young people. Suddenly the killer is their only chance of survival. Valinda Normand, the daughter of Colonel Normand, distrusts him, and he gets support from siblings Jenny and Billy. But the onward journey begins with a shock. Todd forbids them to bury their relatives, as the graves would be an indication to the Indians that someone survived the attack. On the way to Tucson, the children and teenagers experience more dangerous encounters with Apaches, which they survive thanks to the experience of Comanche Todd. Todd becomes a hero and even wins the trust of Valinda, whom he saves from death after a snake bite.

When they meet a group of soldiers, they all seem saved. Only Todd now has to fear the law again. He poses as Mr. Putnam. Together with the soldiers, he can fend off another attack by the Apaches. In the battle, however, he is exposed as the wanted murderer. The soldiers take him to General Howard, who is to pass judgment on Todd. Here Jenny, who fell in love with Todd, becomes his defense attorney. Comanche Todd tells the court that the Harper brothers murdered his Indian wife and two children and that he took revenge on them. The general acquits him, whereupon the trek continues to Tucson. Todd starts a new life with Jenny and Billy.
