Die Herrin vom Sölderhof is a German Heimatfilm melodrama from 1955 by Jürgen von Alten . Main actress Ilse Werner ended her film career to a large extent. Viktor Staal played the male lead at her side .

action

In the early post-war period in the rural, Bavarian border area on Lake Constance . Christa von Söldern has been running the family property there since her father's death and has converted it into an efficient, yet cozy hotel that she runs herself. One day the doctor returns to Dr. Stefan Schneider from captivity to his elderly parents at Lake Constance. Christa helps Stefan get a practice on site, and they both soon fall in love.

This relationship soon results in a son named Peter. The marriage between the mistress of the Sölderhof and the successful doctor who enjoys his work went well for many years. But soon clouds of marital happiness move, because Stefan's strenuous and time-consuming job, which is completely absorbed in his work, threatens to put a heavy strain on their love. Eventually they split up, but after all sorts of other incidents, it is little Peter who brings his parents back together.

Production notes

The shooting took place in Munich- Geiselgasteig (studio shoots) as well as in Bad Aibling, at the Chiemsee, in Baden-Baden and in Vagen (external shoots). The world premiere was on December 30, 1955 in Baden-Baden and Braunschweig.

Co-author Franz Grohmann took over the production management, Willi Schatz designed the film structures. Film editor Walter Fredersdorf also worked as von Altens' assistant director.

criticism

In Filmdienst states: "A naive and sentimental marriage drama that claims to be wrongly called returnees fate. Charged with the pseudo-problems of a post-war marriage, which are not based on the reality of the time, but on the greatest possible stirring effects in the cinema of that time. "
