The rank of pay level OR-7 has a special feature. Color Sergeant is a rank of the infantry regiments of the British Army and is equivalent to a staff sergeant of the armored force.

The two highest NCO ranks in the British Army are Warrant Officer Class 1 and Class 2 . The badges are generally the royal crown (WOII) and the royal coat of arms (WOI). However, there is also a special feature here, because the WO wear wreath-rimmed badges on special posts. This is the post of conductor on the one hand and the quartermaster sergeant on the other .

As you can see from the name, the brigadier (OF-6) is usually the commander of a brigade , but today, unlike many other armies, he is no longer a member of the generals.

The rank of Field Marshal (OF-10) has not been awarded since the late 1990s. It is now reserved for times of war or can be awarded on an honorary basis.

Royal Air Force (Luftwaffe)

As a rule, the air forces take over the ranks of the army. Not so with the RAF. In contrast to almost all other air forces, the Royal Air Force has developed its own system of rank designations , which is based on the designations of the units ( squadron , group , squadron ).

  3. The sergeant aircrew , the flight sergeant aircrew and the master aircrew are a special group of ranks that are awarded within airborne units.
  4. The Marshal of the Royal Air Force is a rank reserved for times of war and has not been awarded since 1993.
